The Starweigh Checkweigher is the world's first starwheel-based checkweigher that maintains high throughput and unparalleled accuracy while handling the widest range of container sizes

Hi-Speed Checkweigher introduces the Starweigh Checkweigher, the world's first starwheel-based checkweigher that maintains high throughput and unparalleled accuracy while handling the widest range of container sizes.

One Starweigh Checkweigher can be changed over to handle containers from 30 cc to 2000 cc; it achieves an accuracy of +/- 3 mg at 3 sigma and line speeds up to 200 or 400 cpm, depending on the specific Starweigh model selected.

Starweigh is ideal for hard-to-handle packages including round, oval, rectangular and square containers made of plastic, metal and glass from 0.75 to 6.5 inches in diameter as well as odd-shaped products such as mascara or commemorative coins.

Product is fed from a conveyor into pockets in the unique starwheel.

Multiple packages are accumulated into each pocket, which features as many as six sub-pockets, each aligned to a separate scale so each package is isolated as it is weighed.

Unlike traditional checkweighers, which feature a belt configuration that forces users to compromise accuracy to handle a wide range of product volumes, Hi-Speed equips Starweigh with multiple weigh pans to achieve the highest accuracy for a wide range of product sizes and weights.

Superior accuracy is delivered on Starweigh with an auto-correct function that re-calibrates and re-zeros each scale with every revolution of the starwheel.

This feature corrects for any product build-up and any long-term drift of the weigh cells and electronics.

Achieving superior precision assures that containers with missing tablets, components, leaflets and low fluid levels are rejected from the production line while false rejects are virtually eliminated.

Starweigh can be mounted over an existing conveyor; installation can be accomplished in only two or three feet of conveyor depending on the model selected.

Since product need not be timed or spaced, as is required of other checkweighers, Starweigh eliminates problematic belt transfers and offers positive product handling.

The system's innovative starwheel assembly can be easily swapped out to accommodate products of widely varying sizes.

Changeovers can be accomplished in less than one minute with no tools required.

The Hi-Speed Checkmate control manages the multiple scales simultaneously.

As each pocket is filled, the starwheel indexes via a precision servo motor system.

Each scale has a dedicated drop-through rejecter that diverts out-of-tolerance packages off the production line.

The Checkmate controller can be pre-programmed with as many as 100 product recipes to ease use and speed changeover.

Starweigh has been developed to handle a number of specific process control functions such as integration with a tare-gross, feed forward and/or feedback systems.
