Honeywell Field Solutions will show its latest great ideas to improve productivity and product quality at Instrumentation South on 3 - 4 October 2007

These include paperless recorders with significant new data recording and display technology features, wireless process transmitters for reliable remote process measurement and a unique corrosion transmitter to help maximise process run time Honeywell has been a familiar and trusted name for industrial data recording for over 70 years

Its paper-based circular and strip chart recorders are versatile and reliable paperless recorders with a range of valuable features.

Honeywell Minitrend QX and Multitrend SX paperless recorders represent the latest, best-in-class electronic data recording and display technology on the market.

They have 140mm (5.5in) and 130mm (12in) diagonal screen displays respectively.

They provide reliable, easy to use operation, greater security and more data storage than other models.

When used with Honeywell TrendManager Pro Software, data analysis is simple and fast.

The Honeywell eZtrend QXe is a cost-effective, general purpose DIN size paperless electronic data recorder to replace 100mm paper strip chart recorders.

It captures continuous and batch data electronically.

All Honeywell paperless recorders are equipped with multiple storage media capabilities and the latest digital colour TFT displays for better contrast and wider viewing of process data.

* Wireless transmitters.

Honeywell XYR 5000 Wireless Transmitters enable process variables to be monitored in areas where traditional hard-wired transmitters are too costly, difficult or time-consuming to implement.

By providing more and better information about the process and assets, they make it easier to improve product quality, reduce costs, maximize uptime, achieve regulatory compliance and enhance product development.

Honeywell XYR 5000 Wireless Transmitters can deliver information easily, flexibly, and affordably from points that are remote, without access to power, difficult to reach, or in hazardous areas.

The range includes transmitters for gauge, absolute and differential pressure, and temperature.

There is also an analogue input interface for adding wireless capabilities to 4-20mA devices and discrete inputs.

Honeywell XYR 5000 transmitters are designed for exposed industrial use, being accurate, reliable, and rugged.

They provide exceptional accuracy of typically +/-0.1% of full-scale reading at reference conditions and feature a long battery life (3 to 5 years).

An alarm warns of low-battery condition, and extensive self-checking software and hardware continuously monitor instrument operation.

The instruments avoid signal interference and increase signal security by employing a Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technique.

* Corrosion monitoring.

The Honeywell SmartCET corrosion transmitter uniquely provides on-line, real-time corrosion information to plant operators and engineers, allowing them to reduce maintenance costs and increase unit productivity by minimising failures, avoiding unplanned downtime and increasing run time.

SmartCET interfaces to a plant distributed control system (DCS) or Honeywell Experion process knowledge system (PKS) using a 4-20mA signal with a HART protocol.

SmartCET can give plant operators access to a time-trended general (uniform) corrosion rate, which can be correlated with plant process information.

It can also provide an indication of localised (pitting) corrosion detection.

Localised corrosion is responsible for approximately 70 to 90 percent of all corrosion-related equipment failures.
