"We needed an integrated solution of both hardware and software products to help arm our field personnel with the right mobilised equipment to ensure accurate collection and analysis of data," said Gerald Bru, Senior Control Systems Specialist, Lyondell.
Lyondell had been a Honeywell customer for several years and has a Honeywell DCS that it has relied on for the past 15 years.
"Although we did our diligence and tested other vendors, we were more satisfied with Honeywell, who once again surpassed our expectations," said Gerald Bru: "Honeywell products have also proven to be dependable with little disruption over a 15-year period, proving the workmanship in the product".
Lyondell implemented the Honeywell IntelaTrac PKS system for field data collection and intelligent asset management, enabling its users to integrate field data with data from multiple sources, including production, process control and work management systems.
Field operators were armed with tools for the accurate capture, collection and use of time-critical data through the use of ruggedised computers, RFID tags and other peripheral devices, such as temperature guns, vibration probes and NDT testing devices.
"It is evident that we chose the right solution provider based on the excellent workmanship and service and support they provide," continued Bru.
"We've been able to outfit our field personnel with the capabilities of an advanced mobile system that enables them to perform their jobs onsite with accurate data, saving both time and money, but nothing demonstrates dedication like picking up the phone at 2 am for a field call and Honeywell is right by your side".
