The island is of modular construction so can be configured to exactly match the needs of individual applications.
Up to 18 monostable or 11 bistable valves can be configured in the island.
The electric connection system within the island is such that no re-wiring is required, all connections are automatically made on a plug and play basis.
Several different pressures can be handled simultaneously on the IM10, a feature which enhances its usability considerably compared to alternative solutions for multi-axis control.
All the common fieldbus protocols such as Profibus DP, Interbus S and DeviceNet can be used in conjunction with the island by using standard interface modules, a full range of which will follow the launch of the current multipole version.
The Hoerbiger-Origa design team has also ensured that the IM10 is suitable for use in IP65-rated environments by developing a special D-SUB connector with a seal.
Like the S10 single valve the IM10 is extremely compact, a characteristic the designers worked hard to achieve without compromise to the ease of use, as experience suggests that the island will often be specified in applications where space and/or weight is at a premium.
Cost effectiveness and highly efficient operation, a long life span and maintenance-free operation are other user benefits built into the product.
The flow rate and precision of pressure control are class-leading, and the energy efficiency of the unit is such that it can often provide the most economical systems architecture.
