New VP appointed for Europe, ME and

Honeywell has appointed Norman "Norm" Gilsdorf to vice president and general manager for the Honeywell Process Solutions operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Norm Gilsdorf was formerly senior vice president and general manager of the UOP Process Technology and Equipment business unit, where he and his team successfully grew the business by more than 25 percent He replaces Paul Orzeske, who now leads the integration of the Honeywell new acquisition of Hand Held Products

"Norm brings a track-record of success at UOP and a wealth of European experience to this important role," said Jack Bolick, president, Honeywell Process Solutions: "He will be working closely with key regional customers to improve their business performance through better safety, reliability and efficiency".

At UOP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Gilsdorf most recently served as Senior Vice President of UOP licensing; equipment and systems; and engineering and services business which served the refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries.

Earlier, he was responsible for the UOP Catalysts, Adsorbents and Specialties business unit, and prior to that held various technical services, R+D, business development and marketing and sales roles.

He joined UOP in 1977.

An American national, Gilsdorf has considerable international business experience.

He spent five years working for UOP in the United Kingdom in various roles, where he served as director of sales and services across Europe, Middle East, CIS, India and Africa for the petrochemical industries.

He also spent seven years in Moscow as director of sales and services for the CIS region, where he and his team helped launch UOP into Russia in the 1990s.

Gilsdorf holds a BSc degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University (in Lafayette) and an MBA in international business and finance from Northwestern University (in Chicago).
