Honeywell unveils control station for HC900 users

A Honeywell Process Solutions product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 23, 2009

Honeywell has released a touch-screen operator interface that helps plant operators using Honeywell HC900 control systems to more easily manage their processes.

The Honeywell 900 control station is a panel-mounted interface available for all new HC900 installations.

It also can be retrofitted for existing, compatible systems.

The operator interface, featuring a 10.4in (26.4cm) colour display touch screen, introduces enhanced graphic features designed to reduce setup time and simplify operation, while improving security and versatility in the field.

Pre-formatted displays, custom graphic tools and more than 4,000 pre-built process graphic objects are intended to make it easy for system designers to create unique colour graphic touch-screen displays that schematically symbolise the layout and functions of the process, facilitating operator acceptance.

The interface also simplifies process changeovers by allowing operators to select from previously stored recipe variables, set-point programs, set-point schedules and sequences.

Henri Tausch, vice-president and general manager of Honeywell Field Solutions, said: 'Efficient production means being able to focus on managing processes.

'The 900 control station enables customers to manage and optimise their applications by providing an easy-to-use system for application control, measurement and data acquisition,' he added.

The HC900 control system includes hybrid control solutions used for standalone control and SCADA applications in processes such as thermal control in boilers, furnaces, kilns and dryers.

It is also suitable for small-unit processing in pharmaceutical, chemical, bio-fuel and pilot-plant applications.
