New Honeywell IP21 Variable Speed Drives can cut project costs as well as making it easy to select and install a high quality variable frequency drive for pump, fan or compressor control

The new drives with IP21 protection cost less than the established IP54 models Yet both types are equally easy to install and can be set up in 30 seconds using their Start-Up Wizard

Modbus is built-in, and there are plug-in cards for other common open and proprietary buses.

Choosing the right Honeywell drive for any application is simple: just select the motor power and protection class: IP21 or IP54.

All Honeywell HVAC Drives are pre-configured, and have a Class C RFI filter.

This versatility means a few model options cater for all HVAC applications up to 30KW.

This greatly simplifies model selection and reduces stockholding.

Plug-in fieldbus cards are available for Profibus, Lonworks, DeviceNet, CANopen, BACnet, Metasys N2, ModBus/TCP, RS-485 and some proprietary buses.

The drives feature a space-saving "bookshelf" design, for panel or surface mounting.

The drives are packed with reliability and energy-saving features, such as over-temperature (adjusts the switching frequency to adapt to an unusual increase in ambient temperature or load increase), power ride-through (automatically adapts to a sudden voltage drop by reducing motor speed), trip-less output switching, auto restart (automatically after fault clearance) and flux optimisation (for energy savings of 5%).

Motor control features include flying start, automatic torque boost function, auto identification of motor internal variables for motor reliability, a high switching frequency to reduce motor noise and temperature control to stop the fan when not needed.

The drives also feature inbuilt PID controllers, and pump and fan cascade control to share the load equally between several parallel pumps, so extending their lifetimes.
