Hardy Instruments, a leader in the process control industry introduces an Ethernet/IP interface for the 3000 series Filler/Dispenser and multi-scale weight controllers

Hardy Instruments, a leader in the process control industry introduces an Ethernet/IP interface for the 3000 series Filler/Dispenser and multi-scale weight controllers This interface not only allows a host controller to monitor a filling process controlled by Hardy Instruments HI 3010 Filler/Dispenser, but the host controller can also change operating parameters in the instrument

The EtherNet/IP interface allows all four weighing channels of the HI 3030 Weight Controller to be viewed and controlled by the host.

Like Hardy's other interface option cards, ControlNet, Allen-Bradley RIO and Profibus, one instrument with an Ethernet/IP (-EIP) port can act as a network bridge communicating data from other HI 3000 Series Instruments connected in a Hardy-Links or a DeviceNet Local Area Network (LAN).

Unlike the many options available in the new industrial Ethernets, EtherNet/IP uses an open protocol at the application layer.

It is the only EtherNet/IP standard supported by three networking organizations: ControlNet International (CI), the Industrial Ethernet Association (IEA) and the Open DeviceNet Vendor Association (ODVA).

EtherNet/IP is an open industrial networking standard that takes advantage of commercial off-the-shelf Ethernet communication chips and physical components.

EtherNet/IP supports both implicit messaging (real-time I/O control messaging) and explicit messaging (information message exchange).

Hardy Instruments has been providing customers with process control solutions for over 85 years and is best known for its innovative technology.

Hardy, an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer, is based in San Diego, California.
