Rainwater system rapid testing for building sites

A Huntingdon Fusion Techniques product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Apr 26, 2007

Companies which install gutters and downpipes, particularly in large industrial facilities, have to be really careful that the systems are adequate enough to handle the volume of water from a storm

All downpipes should be tested prior to acceptance by the main contractor because, if there is a leak, air can become entrapped and can build up high pressure leading to blow-back.

A blowback reaching the roof can cause a large volume of water to flow over the roof, rather than down the very full gutters, endangering personnel in the vicinity.

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques (HFT) manufactures a range of expandable nylon plugs covering the range between 12 mm and 160 mm diameter and these are widely used by principal installers such as Sapoflow which recognise the dangers involved and are regular users of the HFT products.

More installers are expected to join Sapaflow and other increasingly safety conscious companies which apply formal leak testing following design and fitting of rainwater and other drainage products.
