A major order for pipe freezing equipment from a South African petrochemical company has been received by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques (HFT).

The 'Qwik-Freezer' equipment will be used to freeze water in 100 mm diameter pipelines and thus offer the opportunity to undertake pipe weld repairs without the need for expensive and time-consuming draining operations.

Qwik-Freezer products cover the entire range of pipe diameters between 9.5 and 200 mm.

A complementary product (Accu-Freeze) is capable of controlled freezing of up to 300 mm diameter pipelines.
