Sealing plugs for efficient circumferential welds

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques in the UK design and manufacture a wide range of ancillaries including purge systems, tungsten electrodes and welding enclosures.

Typical is an expandable nylon sealing plug, used to ensure that inert gas coverage of the weld root remains intact, and typically used to optimise the efficiency of circumferential tube welding.

HFT manufactures expandable plugs covering the range 25 to 2000 mm diameter in materials such as nylon, aluminium and steel.

Used not only during welding but also as an effective seal during testing of pipelines, these plugs have been developed over many years to offer reliability and ease of use on site.
