Huntsman launches online Reach information portal

Huntsman Advanced Materials is offering an immediate online Reach information service to its direct customers and distributors via its new Reach web portal.

The portal is a communications tool for the exchange of all Reach-related information and data, as well as the dissemination of news, between Huntsman and everyone that the company deals with.

Every direct customer and distributor is given an ID user number to access specific information related to the completion of the Reach process.

Customers can use the portal to find out about the end uses that Huntsman proposes specific to their requirements, which are required for the mandatory Reach Supply Chain Communication process.

Also on the site is a facility for customers to give feedback about their use of Huntsman materials.

Registration requires gathering and developing sufficient information on each chemical, outlining its properties and uses, to ensure safe handling.

Huntsman has fine-tuned its risk management and control systems to ensure that there are no supply-chain problems and that contingency plans are in place in the event of a substance being withdrawn.

It has also established 'only representatives' in order to support its overseas customers importing goods into the European Union.
