Air filter regulator for salt water
environments
Leading industrial instrumentation specialists Hycontrol are introducing their cost effective Type-300 "Gulf Buster" Air Filter Regulator, built to withstand corrosive salt water environments
The Gulf Buster, which incorporates all of the operating features of the established standard Type-300 Filter Regulator, is designed specifically for use in corrosive salt water environments and provides instrument quality air to valves, pneumatic controllers, transmitters, transducers, valve positioners, air cylinders and a wide range of pneumatic control systems The Gulf Buster is ideal for oil and gas platform applications, whilst other applications include both on and offshore petrochemical processing; food; pulp and paper; pharmaceutical processing; pollution control; wastewater treatment and research projects

The Gulf Buster has an aluminium body construction providing an economical alternative to filter regulators of all stainless construction.
However, the Gulf Buster design ensures that corrosion points of typical filter regulators, including the adjusting stem, internal valve stem, drain valve and assembly hardware, are constructed from stainless steel, thereby ensuring they receive maximum resistance to salt laden environments.
The Gulfbuster has excellent stability and repeatability, providing constant control under variable flow rates and supply pressures.
The aspirator design helps maintain set pressure at higher flow levels ensuring low droop at high flow levels.
A soft, rubberised valve provides a positive shutoff and compensates for dirt and other foreign matter.
The unit has a low air consumption, that decreases operating costs, whilst the tapped exhaust allows remote venting media.
The Gulf Buster is available in 1/4" NPT porting with output ranges of 0-30psig, 0-60psig and 0-100psig and a maximum supply pressure of 250psig.
Standard mounting allows for pipe or through body.
Operational temperature limits range from -30C to +80C.
The Gulfbuster is part of the extensive range of Hycontrol electro-pneumatic equipment, solenoid valves, pressure switches and level measurement instrumentation.
The company provides a full electrical panel building and commissioning service.
