The IMC London Section Committee has organised a Technical Lecture on Tuesday 10th Jan 2006, at 17.30 for 18.00 It will discuss 'IEC 61508 Safety Assessment', and is a presentation by Mr Clive de Salis of Rowanhouse: Clive is the Chair of the 61508 Association in the UK
The presentation outline is described as a discussion of: 'Dilemmas of risk assessment under BS EN 61508 for safety instrumented systems'.
The talk will cover the subject with some real examples that will emphasize the dilemmas facing those who determine the required SIL ratings and highlight that most of the standard is actually designed for process engineers.
