The IDEC one of a kind XN series illuminated and non-illuminated Emergency Stop Switches employ a direct opening action mechanism which meets IEC60947-5-5, 5.2, IEC60947-5-1, Annex K standards

They also employ a safety lock mechanism which meets the IEC60947-5-5, 6.2 standard The innovative "safe break action" ensures that all NC contacts open if the contact block is separated from the operator

The direct opening action, without springs, means the potential energy level to achieve latched status is lower than that of normal status.

Now, padlockable versions have been introduced to allow prevention of the unauthorised reset of latched emergency stop switches.

This meats the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines which states where unexpected start up of a machine could cause injury to operators, if the machine is stopped, it should be isolated from potentially hazardous energy sources and locked out, before employees perform any servicing or maintenance.

Product Options: 30mm hole fixing, 40mm and 60mm heads for non-illuminated types, 40mm head for illuminated types, 44mm head for padlockable versions, screw terminal fixing with/without terminal cover, push/pull and turn to reset.
