This new centre will deliver high-impact technology and business solutions across the LNG value chain to maximise asset utilisation, minimise risk, and reduce costs.

The charter of the new worldwide centre is to work hand-in-hand with end users and global engineering companies to deliver the full spectrum of the Invensys innovative automation and information solutions across the LNG value chain.

The solutions are designed to help improve reliability, ensure safe operation, maximise asset utilisation and performance; minimise risk; and reduce costs in new and existing liquefaction plants, LNG carriers, and regasification terminals.

"The global LNG industry is clearly entering an exciting growth phase that will present LNG producers, transporters, and distributors with new opportunities and new challenges that - in some cases - will force these companies to re-think the way they do business," said Mike Caliel, president of Invensys Process Systems.

"The Invensys Global LNG Business and Technology Centre will build upon this proven domain expertise, plus the company's broad technology and services portfolio, to develop and implement new and innovative automation and information solutions designed to help the global LNG industry meet its full potential for growth and profitability".

The Invensys innovative solutions portfolio includes a unique design and diagnostic methodology that enables the company LNG industry consultants to more effectively aggregate and analyse "as is" situational data and transform it into actionable recommendations for business and process optimisation.

Working in conjunction with Microsoft to leverage Microsoft.NET, BizTalk Server 2000, and other Microsoft technologies, Invensys is also pioneering a powerful new real-time information environment that seamlessly connects plant automation and information systems to business systems to enable more effective collaboration and real-time decision support across the LNG enterprise.

Headquartered in Singapore, the Invensys LNG Business and Technology Centre will leverage a network of satellite centers located in Montreal, Houston, and elsewhere.

These centres will focus on developing, deploying, and supporting business and technology solutions for liquefaction, marine, and regasification.

Additional resources will be drawn as needed from Invensys other sales, support, and technical centres around the world, thus enabling Invensys to deliver consistently high-quality solutions and responsive support to LNG customers anywhere in the world.
