The system will monitor, supervise, and control three major, multi-product pipelines of strategic importance to SINOPEC core business operations.
The Foxboro SCADA system will interface with three existing third-party SCADA sub-systems to enable SINOPEC to gather, dispatch, transfer, and deliver its raw and finished products throughout this large and populous region in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner.
Ultimately, the Foxboro SCADA system will be expanded to supervise all existing SINOPEC pipelines in China.
The Invensys advanced SCADA solution for the new Dispatch Centre will include an appropriate mix of Unix and Windows technologies, plus well-proven Foxboro SCADA applications to help increase safety, improve pipeline operations, and enhance maintenance.
An embedded Web server will provide authorised SINOPEC individuals with secure, real-time access to real-time and historical pipeline information from anywhere in the world via either the SINOPEC corporate intranet or the Internet.
