The Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems advises that its Avantis.PRO (R4.1) enterprise asset management (EAM) solution now supports Simplified Chinese language.
This move is intended to encourage utilisation of this advanced technology to increase maintenance productivity and effectiveness in a variety of Chinese industries, including chemicals, power and utilities, food and beverage, manufacturing, metals and mining, pharmaceuticals, and pulp and paper.
"Now that many key industrial processes in China have been automated to improve quality and yields, the next challenge is to maximise the availability of industrial assets while reducing maintenance and spare parts costs," said Neil Cooper, general manager of the Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems.
"Avantis.PRO provides a well-proven, easy to implement, and highly cost-effective solution for accomplishing this".
"Avantis.PRO represents yet another important technology in the Invensys portfolio that we can use to help our forward-thinking customers in China to improve both the utilisation and availability of their industrial assets," added John Sun, general manager of Invensys Process Systems in China.
"We're very pleased to be able to offer our customers a Simplified Chinese version of Avantis.PRO.
We've also added additional personnel at both our Shanghai and Beijing technical centres to be able to provide local implementation, training, and technical support for Avantis products".
Several customers in China are currently implementing Avantis.PRO.
This includes a pilot project under way at the Sinopec Shell Yueyang Coal Gasification Project, where Avantis.PRO will be used to manage critical procurement, inventory, and maintenance activities.
As Main Automation Vendor for this important project, Invensys is also providing and implementing Foxboro field instrumentation and I/A Series automation systems, Triconex safety instrumented systems, Triconex integrated turbine compressor controls, plus integration to a variety of third-party sub-systems.
