Process control industry veteran Tom Kinney has returned to Invensys to help drive critical plant-level performance services in support of the company's unique asset performance management strategy

Process control industry veteran, Tom Kinney, has returned to Invensys where he has been appointed director of performance services at the Foxboro-based Process Systems division.

In this capacity, Mr Kinney will help to further develop and deliver new and innovative plant-level performance service capabilities in support of Invensys' overall asset performance management (APM) business optimisation strategy.

Introduced last year, APM utilises a patented methodology and unique three-tier services model to enable industrial enterprises to continuously balance asset utilisation and availability to meet changing business requirements.

Mr.Kinney will focus his efforts on process control performance management, alarm management, and related base performance services at the plant level.

Prior to this position, Mr Kinney served as vice president for worldwide sales at ExperTune, where he helped the company achieve record loop optimisation sales.

Mr.Kinney had previously worked for Foxboro and Invensys for 22 years with responsibility for advanced process control (APC) and APC services for a wide variety of processes.

He has been awarded seven process control-related patents and has published numerous technical papers.
