Invensys announces Wonderware competition winners

Invensys Operations Management has announced the North American winners of its annual Wonderware Open competition.

Winners were recognised for their innovative use of Wonderware software to generate significant business results in several categories.

The 2009 Wonderware Open winner for 'Best Industry Solution' is Pepsi Bottling Ventures, based on improvements in its reporting and trending capabilities that enabled management teams to review performance data in consistent, reliable and easily shared formats.

The 'Best Manufacturing Execution System Application' was awarded to Johnson and Johnson, with overall improvements made to product scheduling using the Wonderware System Platform built on ArchestrA technology.

The object-oriented capabilities of ArchestrA technology allows for an implementation that met the facility's scheduling requirements without sacrificing the quality, robustness or feature functionality of the system.

Campbell Soup was recognised for 'Best Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence Application'.

The 'Best Mobile Solution' was given to OxyChem Taft for its use of Wonderware IntelaTrac to ensure the proper function of critical instruments in its manufacturing facilities, which produce polyvinyl chloride resins, chlorine and caustic soda.

More than 100 instrument loops have been added to the Wonderware IntelaTrac system.

The China Ministry of Railway was awarded 'Best HMI / SCADA' for its use of the Wonderware System Platform as the SCADA system to help operate the country's national railway system.

Winners were selected based on the impact the solution has on product quality, productivity, ROI, energy savings, customer responsiveness and faster time to market.

Entries were judged by industry experts, trade magazine editors, industry analysts and the Invensys Operations Management executive team.
