Inductive proximity switch for welding
all metals

Proximity sensors from the ifm electronic 'efector m' series now deal with all the problems associated with welding: providing consistent measurements and immunity to spatter and interference

A new range of proximity sensors from the ifm electronic efector m series can now deal with all the problems associated with welding * Firstly, the sensing range is greater to prevent mechanical damage and the new range from ifm electronic will sense the same distance whatever the metal, so no more problems with aluminium

* Secondly, they are PTFE-coated and the sensing face is made from a highly durable thermoset to cope with weld splatter.

* Thirdly, the circuits are hardened against the interference from the electromagnetic fields.

Standard cylindrical sizes are available in M12, M18 and M30.

The enhanced sensing distance means the M12 will sense 8mm even on non-ferrous targets.

Also available is a compact rectangular unit, sensing up to 35mm in any one of five directions.

ifm electronic specialises in the application of advanced electronic technology to produce innovative and effective solutions for industrial control applications.

Products include flow sensors; pressure transmitters and switches; temperature switches and transmitters; capacitive, inductive and photoelectric proximity sensors; and a full range of AS-i I/O modules and masters.

ifm is committed to working closely with its customers to develop products which precisely match their needs, and the company provides expert, readily accessible technical support to help users maximise the benefits they gain from ifm products. Request a free brochure from IFM Electronic ...
