Temperature sensor for use in oil or hydraulics

An IFM Electronic product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 29, 2007

The new TA temperature sensors, from ifm electronic, are universal transmitters, offered either with integrated AS-i slave (TAA131) or 4-20 mA output (TA3130)

These transmitters are used in oil or hydraulic lines in stationary installations, but also in mobile vehicles and in small pipes where space is limited.

The temperature evaluation range is between 0 to 140C or -10 to 150C.

The size of the sensors is 117.7 mm or 127.9 mm.

For the AS-i transmitter the transmission is effected according to the analogue protocol 7.3 which is implemented in all masters to AS-i specification 2.1 as a standard.

When the temperature sensor has been connected to the AS-interface the AS-i master detects the sensor automatically and starts data transfer.

The measured values of the temperature sensor are directly transferred in the physical unit of degrees C and so they are available without further conversion.

The analogue unit (TA3130) provides a 4 to 20 mA signal which is proportional to the temperature.

This allows processing of the signal in every common controller.

Due to the Pt sensor elements, which are class A, an extremely high precision is achieved.

The excellent response time of the sensors is 1s for T05 and 3s for T09.

The integrated G1/4 thread ensures easy mounting without further adaptation.

The completely sealed and welded housing ensures not only protection rating IP69K but also high mechanical stability.
