BP and IChemE have joined forces to further publish these booklets and make them available to a wider audience.
The first four titles from the series were introduced at the Hazards XVIII Symposium in Manchester this week.
These booklets focus on hazardous incidents in the refining industry.
They offer a quick and easy reference guide for operators and managers alike with key information being presented in simple terms.
Their usefulness and popularity has been highlighted by Roy Sanders, author of 'Chemical Process Safety: Learning from Case Histories', who includes the booklets in his list of 'The Best Seven Books on Chemical Process Safety from a Process Engineers Viewpoint'.
The booklets were originally developed to support in-house training at BP but their appeal was such that demand, both within BP and beyond, outstripped supply.
BP has now formed a partnership with IChemE to meet the ongoing demand.
"The booklets are written by the BP Process Safety Network and endorsed by IChemE, demonstrating the commitment of both organisations to process safety and dissemination of best practice," says the BP Central Safety Team's Frederic Gil.
"IChemE is a well regarded publisher and we are sure the success and popularity of the Sharing the Experience series will continue to grow".
The four titles published this week are: Hazards of Steam, Hazards of Air and Steam, Hazards of Water and Hazards of Nitrogen and Catalyst Handling.
These are available from the on-line shop on the IChemE website, priced at GBP15.
Other titles in the series will be available in 2005.
