Intellitect presents in-pipe logging sonde

An Intellitect product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 28, 2008

Intellitect Water has launched the Intellisonde in-pipe chlorine detection and 12-parameter logging sonde.

It is able to measure active and free chlorine in the pipe accurately, without reagents, membranes or waste discharge.

It can do this even at low levels of chlorine at the end of the pipe network, using solid-state measuring technology.

The Intellisonde SA is the short-application version of the same product, for low-cost and short-term deployment in boundary boxes.

It offers a high-quality, accurate and auditable numeric response to customer complaints.

The compact instrumentation is able to measure colour, turbidity, flow, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, active chlorine, free chlorine, flow and temperature simultaneously, among other parameters, accurately and at low cost.

Each sonde can log data at selected intervals, and when the logged parameter is outside set threshold levels, an alarm can be sent over GPRS, either as text or email, to alert management to water quality or other issues.

The low cost of mass deployment offers significant benefits to managers engaged in upgrading and improving pipe networks, and helps focus resources on the highest-risk areas.
