One of the UK's leading power experts is to give a key address at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers on 15 December about the future of the country's electricity supply
One of the UK's leading power experts is to give a key address at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on 15 December about the future of the country's electricity supply An audience of 250 people will converge at the IMechE headquarters in Westminster to hear respected expert, Dr Malcolm Kennedy CBE, FREng, FRSE, present the lecture 'The Future of Britain's Electricity Supply - Vision or Muddle?'

Dr Kennedy's engineering career spans almost 50 years.
He is now hailed as one of the architects behind the privatisation of the UK's electricity industry and a key figure in the global power business.
He recently retired as Chairman of consulting engineers PB Power Ltd, and is now involved in consultancy work for them.
Dr Kennedy became a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 1985 and was awarded a CBE in 1999 (for services to exports to developing countries).
He was President of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (1999-2000), and elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2002.
He is currently a non-executive Director of the New and Renewable Energy Centre (a Government-financed not-for-profit company established to promote, develop and test ideas and equipment in the renewable energy field).
Refreshments are available from 5.15 p.m and the Lecture begins at 6.00 pm and is due to finish at 7.30pm, closing with the Q and A session.
