IRISYS introduces a new thermal imager giving a multitude of operational benefits for predictive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance at an industry-leading price

A new thermal imager that gives those involved in predictive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance a multitude of operational benefits, at an industry-leading price, has been launched by infrared specialists IRISYS The IRI 4010 has been designed for thermographers, maintenance engineers or any other technician requiring to identify, measure and record temperatures from -10C to +250C with a pixel resolution of 160 x 120 that gives crisp, high resolution images

IRISYS have made this possible by incorporating into the IRI 4010 a state of the art 3.5'' large colour LCD display with LED backlight.

Up to 1000 high quality images may be stored (and retrieved at full digital resolution) on the supplied SD card.

Two measurement cursors highlight temperature and temperature differences while a Class II laser focuses on the central measurement area for ease of identification of specific hot spots.

The imager, with its 20deg x 15deg field of view lens, has a minimum focus of 30cm, and is fitted with manual and auto functions for image adjustment.

The Towcester-based IRISYS design team has paid particular attention to the ergonomics of the IRI 4010, keeping its evenly balanced weight down to 750g (including the four-hour capacity, field replaceable battery).

IRISYS Director of Thermal Imaging Systems Steve Hollock says: "We have worldwide users of the IRISYS IRI 1011 which has been on the market for three years.

A significant percentage of those customers, and many other potential users, have asked for an imager that gives them more.

We have responded with the launch of a quality, flexible product that gives high resolution images at a price that is within the most minimal of budgets.

"Furthermore, the financial contributions made by the detection and alleviation of potential temperature-related problems in plant and machinery is almost incalculable.

This is truly 21st century technology that offers great value for money yet involves no compromise on quality and performance".

Dr Hollock added that, having established a market reputation for low cost but highly effective imagers in a very short space of time, IRISYS had decided to "take on" the market leaders with a high resolution, state-of-the-art product that remains the most competitive in the industry.

The IRI 4010 opens up new market segments for IRISYS such as HVAC, power utilities, buildings, marine and security.

Founded in 1996 to develop a world-leading position in low element count, low cost, uncooled, two-dimensional pyroelectric arrays, IRISYS has a dedicated UK-based manufacturing facility for the production of commercial infra red detector arrays and array-based systems and sub systems.

IRISYS thermal imagers are already widely established in thermography and condition monitoring applications worldwide; whilst array-based detectors are used to capture targets and provide additional information relating to target size, location, speed, number and direction of movement.
