Inditherm, the provider of innovative heating solutions, announces successful results for trials of its low voltage carbon polymer heating system at the Severn Trent Minworth Sewage Treatment Works
The system uses their patented low voltage carbon-based polymer technology to provide the heat.
The low voltage heating pads are secured directly to the pipework, and then covered with insulation and cladding.
The main innovation is that this work can now be carried out off-site, producing completed pipework assemblies that can then be transported to site where they are secured onto pre-installed brackets, wired in and commissioned.
The stainless steel cladding also has a number of innovations designed to eliminate the ingress of contaminants or microbes; these include specially profiled end caps with a hygienic quality sealant applied to all joints.
The Inditherm well-proven removable heating jackets can still be used to cover valves, pumps, meters and other components that require regular access for inspection and maintenance.
Marc Hayes, Sales Manager at Inditherm, said, "This unique system is designed to reduce on-site installation time, offer high levels of hygiene, while improving performance through continuous accurate temperature control.
The 'Plug and Play' concept of this pipe heating system enables sections of pipe to be installed much more rapidly than existing practices, whilst providing an extremely hygienic solution, so vital in food production processes.
We have already installed the system in several well-known confectionery companies in the UK and Europe.
