IMO launches new fibre optic sensors
IMO Precision Controls, the leading automation and control specialist, has introduced a new family of DIN rail mounting fibre optic sensors
The devices have twin integral 2kHz counters that make iSmart ideal for position control, and when used with the pulse width modulated output make iSmart an unbeatable proposition for controlling stepper motors or servo motor speed.
They can be used with a blind controller, or come with an integral programmer that can be programmed using relay ladders or function block diagrams (FBDs).
The devices have an enhanced memory capacity sufficient to store up to 200 lines or 800 relay ladder instructions, or 99 blocks of FBD.
The included programming software, compatible with Windows 98, 2000, XP and CE systems, offers powerful simulation functionality, enabling a program to be tested remotely on desk-based or portable PCs.
Online monitoring is also available.
Programmable iSmarts also include a 4 line, 12 character display that can be used as an HMI.
Messages can be displayed relating to preset and actual values, timers, counters, analogue values or real time clock (RTC), which can be used for accurately controlling processes over seconds, minutes, hours, days, months or years.
There is an option of a memory module and a communications interface to a high speed data link enabling remote I/O or up to 8 iSmarts to be linked.
Communication can be through Modbus or Fieldbus, utilising Ethernet, Profibus, DP Slave, DeviceNet, ASI or Lonworks.
Operation is possible in languages including English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
The new range conforms to CE, UL and C-UL standards.
