Branded X-life, this new premium quality standard represents improvements in product design, product performance and service life that far exceed current standard values and expectations.
Through expert engineering, innovative product development and a "Service surround system" X-life is more than just a product series or service - it is an integral solutions concept.
The range takes account not only of the essential - and improved - product characteristics, but also of all the parameters that are decisive for a problem-free production cycle, such as training programs on correct assembly and optimum maintenance intervals, extending to provision of the necessary lubricants as a function of bearing type and environment.

"All products are competitive benchmarks," comments Robert Schullan, executive vice president of the Schaeffler Group industrial division.
"With this offensive we are facing the changes in the world market.
"On the one hand, the world market is characterised by an intense concentration process and cost pressure from low-cost competitors.
X-life manifests our position as a premium supplier and will help us to reinforce our strong position in Europe and find new markets and sectors".
X-life has product characteristics that fulfil and even surpass special customer requirements.
These include particularly low-noise, maintenance-friendly or high load capacity system solutions.
The common feature of all X-life products is that customers in all areas of application benefit from the combined resources and engineering expertise of two leading manufacturers of rolling bearings.
The new range offers a variety of products for numerous industrial applications of X-life quality, including E1 spherical roller bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings with cages (all three are FAG products) and full complement cylindrical roller bearings as well as machined needle roller bearings, linear guidance systems KUVE*B and RUE*E, and large Elges spherical plain bearings (all INA products).
Over time, other products and series will follow.
"Not all products will be changed over to X-life", said Schullan.
Special series and special bearings will not be affected.
"We will have X-life bearings only in those cases where it is a good idea, in terms of the sector and the customer".

"In line with our philosophy of providing the customer with the best support possible, this means that we will suggest that the customer use a lower performance product or one with shorter life if this is advisable economically.".
