ISO-Veyor is ideal for ferrous sulphate delivery
ISO-Veyor is the ideal way to transport, store and discharge ferrous sulphate hydrate into the cement production process, a raw material required to meet current legislation
The Board of Interbulk Investments are pleased to announce that InBulk and UTT have extended the Lafarge UK ferrous sulphate logistics supply contract.
The expanded contract, signed directly by UTT, relates to logistics for ferrous sulphate supplies to Northfleet cement works in Kent, from Germany.
Ferrous sulphate is a dry powder additive that reduces Chromium VI, which occurs in cement.
Ferrous sulphate is not a difficult material to convey in a dry state but ensuring that the material remains moisture free is the challenge.
Multiple handling and decanting of the product can be very costly.
The innovative technology of the ISO-Veyor means that once filled the product is never handled until it is ready to be added directly into the process.
InBulk have been successfully supplying the product in ISO-Veyors for over 18 months to the Lafarge Westbury works in Wiltshire, from Norway, making use of container ships and road haulage.
In addition, InBulk has secured their first order in North America.
Lafarge North America will become the first North American owners and operators of ISO-Veyor Inter-modal bulk container technology from InBulk, with an expected delivery date of December 2006 of the first 12 units.
These units will be used for the movement of cement powders to customers in Newfoundland.
Bill Thomson, Chairman of InterBulk Investments, commented: "Success with Lafarge is the first important step in the InBulk/UTT partnership and we are delighted to have received this extension to our contract.
It has always been our intention to show Lafarge just what the ISO-Veyor is capable of, and I think we have achieved this with our performance over the past 18 months.
The combination of InBulk and UTT has created a platform for global logistics solutions for powders, granules and liquids, supported by a worldwide network of 65 offices".
