Ormet Aluminum Mill Products has placed further orders with IAS for upgrades to their existing control systems, to install the IAS Windows based IOWorks graphical development/maintenance environment
The audit set the benchmark of current mill performance and evaluated the impact of potential upgraded instrumentation, actuators and controls and provided diagnosis and correction of specific flatness problems.
A one week site visit was conducted in April with minimal interruption to production.
During this time, significant opportunities for improvements were identified.
Partial implementation of these recommendations has reduced strip breaks and impacted shape performance.
The Millcheck report issued in May includes additional recommendations for on-going shape performance improvements.
