Mikron Infrared, the parent company of IMPAC Infrared, has introduced the highly innovative M395 Blackbody Calibration Source, which fulfils the most demanding requirements of modern radiometric calibration.

This unusual instrument satisfies what up to now has been two seemingly irreconcilable design criteria.

It has the ability to reach an extremely high temperature of 2500C yet also satisfies the need for near ambient temperature calibration.

The M395 allows the calibration of infrared instruments with wavelengths from 500nm to 20microns with much higher precision that previously possible.

Highly uniform emitter temperature also insures that infrared instruments with different fields of view are equally accurate during calibration.

Due to its incredible speed of 500C per minute slew rate, the M395 has the potential to replace a number of existing blackbody sources within an industrial facility or research laboratory.

In addition, hundreds of calibration points can be read and stored from simultaneous reading of blackbody source temperature via controller digital communications output and instrument output under test using Mikron custom calibration software.
