Invetech exec entrusted with major role
in SBS
Robert Speziale entrusted to ensure a balance between the interests of commercial vendors and the research and development community, in role of Chair of the SBS Partners in Commerce Committee
Invetech, a specialist in instrument development and custom automation, announces the appointment of its Vice President of Business Development, Robert Speziale, as Chair of the SBS (Society for Biomolecular Sciences) Partners in Commerce Committee As Committee Chair, Robert is entrusted to ensure a balance between the interests of commercial vendors and the research and development community, and to uphold the mission of the society, which is to advance the science and technology of biomolecular sciences

In a unanimous decision by the SBS Board, Robert was chosen to oversee the committee as a result of his industry experience.
A member of the committee since 2001, Robert has also served on the Exhibits Committee of the American Society for Blood Banks, the American Society for Microbiology and the Board of Directors of the Biomedical Marketing Association.
Robert takes up the role immediately where his first tasks will be to add five new members to the committee, to improve co-ordination between the nine SBS committees and to help create a new web-based education programme.

Robert said: "I am extremely honoured to have been asked by the Board to take on the role of Chair, and aim to use my industry experience to benefit the committee.
My main objective will be to establish a lasting relationship between drug discovery and life science vendors and the SBS members and staff".
Robert has overseen in-vitro diagnostic instrument and life sciences instrument business development at Invetech, which has locations in Australia and USA, for 18 months.
Prior to this he held a variety of management positions within healthcare, in-vitro diagnostics and life sciences organizations and at a world recognized blood centre, giving him over 30 years experience in the industry.
