ACHEMA 2003: number one for the Process Industries
At ACHEMA, demand on the part of exhibitors remains stable: exhibitors will only just fall short of the record numbers at ACHEMA 2000, thus making it the second best result in its history
To provide suppliers with access to this growth market IRCHEM 2003 will incorporate a "Biotech exhibition cluster".
This will include 10-15 companies with an interest in the Biotech market.
Suppliers of packaging materials or equipment will be more than aware of the requirements currently being imposed on your customers to re-cycle their Packaging Waste.
This will force all manufacturing companies with a turnover in excess of Euro1 Million to review their packaging strategy both in terms of materials and suppliers.
To facilitate this process and provide suppliers with an opportunity to meet both existing and new customers Cork's first Packaging Exhibition this decade will be held in tandem with IRCHEM 2003.
Over 60% of this country's hazardous waste is generated in County Cork and the type of companies resident in the Cork area are prime targets for suppliers of Waste Management and Recycling Equipment and Services.
Ireland's 200 plus Chemical and Pharmaceutical companies are continuing to expand and are now this country's largest export sector worth in the region of Euro30 billion pa.
The extensive Food and Beverage facilities in the area are also waste sensitive and active in the search for new and better ways to recycle.
With an increase in safety and health awareness and non-compliance to health and safety regulations often leading to heavy fines and costly accidents there is an ever-growing need for products and services such as protective clothing and equipment, safety, security, access and storage, first aid, and hygiene.
This is particularly so in the safety conscious Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Processing Industries.
At the Irchem conference, industry experts will present up to the minute industry news plus the latest on EPA licensing, the Pressure Directive, the Reach Directive, energy savings, health and safety, validation/FDA requirements and more, in a series of seminars running parallel to the main exhibition, presented by Technology Ireland.
BioConnect Ireland will co-locate with Irchem to coincide with the Biotechnology section of the exhibition.
"BioConnect Ireland" is Ireland's leading networking organisation for individuals in biotechnology, life science and medical device sectors, spanning academic, industrial, government agency, trade, professional services and financial organisations.
BioConnect Ireland was formed in early 2001 and has held eight networking meetings to date.
In 2003 450 people attended four events in Belfast, Cork and Dublin.
The objective of the seminar is to provide presentations by experts on topics relevant to the biotechnology sector in Ireland, facilitate lively Q and A and discussion sessions and encourage informal networking opportunities.
This autumn's meeting will be held in conjunction with Irchem, and will take place on the second day of the event, Wednesday 17th September.
This is a not-to-be missed opportunity to talk to industry experts and meet one-to-one with the leading technology and service providers, to ask the questions not covered in product brochures.
Entry to the exhibition, seminars and BioConnect Ireland is FREE.
Over the last five years, IRCHEM has grown with the industry.
At Dublin, Ringaskiddy in Cork, and elsewhere, major investments have been made in building new facilities, and experts believe that this trend will accelerate.
Not only that, but nine of the worlds top ten organisations have established manufacturing plants in Ireland and according to Forf s, expansion is set to continue.
Despite the down turn in some manufacturing sectors, Ireland's Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries have maintained their position as powerful engines of growth in our economy.
Their combined output in 2001 reached over Euro26 billion, or a third of Ireland's total exports.
