Intertek opens mineral testing laboratory

Intertek has opened a mineral testing laboratory in Queensland, Australia.

Intertek Genalysis, part of the Intertek Minerals Division, will operate the laboratory, providing sample preparation and analytical testing services for various metals including gold, nickel, copper and base metals.

Numerous mines, including several of the world's most significant hard rock mines, operate in the Queensland region.

The establishment of an Intertek minerals laboratory in Townsville provides the regional mining and minerals industry expanded local analytical services and expertise.

The laboratory will eventually be staffed with up to 50 employees.
