JW Fairbairn Ltd have announced two workshops to be held at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems Exhibition, in co-operation with ABB and ABB Engineering Services

JW Fairbairn Ltd have announced two workshops to be held at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems exhibition on 8th and 9th September 2004 The workshops will be ably supported by ABB and ABB Engineering Services as part of the ABB Instrumentation Alliance partnership in Scotland with JW Fairbairn

The first Workshop is aimed at instrument engineers who specify build or operate/maintain safety instrumented systems, with such presentations as: "IEC 61511 - what's it all about?"; "How does the new standard impact on my choice of Safety Instrumented systems"; "Real design examples using the new standard - voting systems"; "Using a SiL approved pressure transmitter will save on 'lifecycle' costs".

The second Workshop is aimed at exploring ways of removing 'waste and unnecessary steps' in the delivery of instrumentation packages on projects.

It will be of interest to Procurement of Supply chain specialists and project managers, and includes a presentation entitled "Challenging the Instrument Supply chain by doing things differently!".

Located in the heart of the Offshore industry, the Exhibition brings together the many companies who supply products and services to this industry in two days at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

It is also an opportunity to present the equipment of interest to the processing, power generation, paper, distilling, water and waste, and marine engineering in North East Scotland.

Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems offers visitors and exhibitors alike an efficient, local and enjoyable way to network in an informal environment, with colleagues and business acquaintances, within their own region.

Face-to-face discussions and demonstrations allow both visitors and exhibitors the chance to understand each other's requirements and act on them.
