"Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems - brilliant. Within an hour a job had landed and made the show worthwhile", said Andy Brant, York EMC Services, amongst many others

"Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems - brilliant Within an hour a job had landed and made the show worthwhile", said Andy Brant, York EMC Services

Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems returned to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 8th and 9th September and was a success for all involved.

With almost half of the exhibitors new to the Aberdeen show for 2004 a good mix of industries were represented from those involved in the supply of products and services specific to the offshore industry to others representing processing, power generation, paper, distilling, water and waste, and marine engineering in north east Scotland.

New to Aberdeen for 2004, Heather Jack of First Point Assessment (FPAL) was very pleased with the success of the exhibition, "Instrumentation Scotland definitely far exceeded expectations!".

The event saw several product launches: Ashtead Technology Rentals launched their new Raytek Thermoview Ti30 thermal imager and their new portable XRF Metals Analyser, the Innov-X series XRF.

GE Fanuc Automation exhibited its latest range of PACSystems controllers and BEKA presented a new range of Fieldbus displays, which augment their recently introduced serial indicators.

Captec launched its new THORpac series of rugged mobile computing and instrumentation hybrid platforms and Groveley Detection launched several new products including their GDU Acoustic Leak Detector, GDH High Sensitivity Smoke Aspirator and RD 4-20mA EExd Display Unit.

Delta Controls Ltd demonstrated their new Alarm Annunciator, the PCA 5000 and Flotech used the exhibition to present the BrodieMeter Co waterflood Model 790 Series Vane Meter at the event.

IMA Limited also chose the exhibition for the European launch of their new laser based gas analyser, the 'Tunable Diode Laser' which was developed for a NASA mission.

The workshops held by the ABB Instrumentation Alliance and JW Fairbairn were also very popular and useful for all involved.

Martin Kerlin of JW Fairbairn states, "The workshop we ran over the two days was very successful.

The Supply Chain workshop allowed our company to introduce some new techniques in how we engage with our customers.

This format was regarded by the audience as very successful and we will now 'roll-out' this approach with others.

Valuable? Most Definitely!".

The next Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems exhibition is planned for 6th and 7th September 2006 at the AECC.

For details of this and Trident's other instrumentation exhibitions which include the national Mtec - sensors, measurement and instrumentation event at the NEC Birmingham on 16th and 17th February 2005 and Instrumentation South which will be held at the Madejski Stadium, Reading on 5th and 6th October 2005, please visit the website.
