Dr Rickey Dubay is the first recipient of the ISA Transactions Best Paper Award for his paper, Self-optimising MPC of melt temperature in injection moulding, published in 2002, volume 41, issue 1 of ISA Transactions, our peer-reviewed journal.
Dubay is associate professor for instrumentation and control at the University of New Brunswick in eastern Canada.
Collaborating authors Terry Blevins, Greg McMillan, Willy Wojsznis, and Mike Brown were honoured with the Ray Molloy Award, which recognises the best-selling ISA book in the previous year.
Their 2002 book is Advanced Control Unleashed: Plant Performance Management for Optimum Benefit.
Blevins is principal technologist and team leader for DeltaV advanced control product development within Emerson Process Management.
McMillan is a professor in the chemical engineering department at Washington University in St Louis.
Wojsznis is a technologist with the Advanced Control Group of Emerson Process Management.
Brown is an applications business manager with Matrikon.
Ed Marszal and Eric Scharpf are the recipients of the Thomas G Fisher Award of Excellence for a standards-based book publication for their book published in 2002, Safety Integrity Level Selection: Systematic Methods Including Layer of Protection Analysis.
Marszal is a principal engineer with exida.com, a provider of safety instrumentation training, tools and services.
Scharpf is a partner with exida.com.
