ISA is giving automation professionals another reason to attend its premier western region automation and control event.

ISA Automation West 2006 will feature 'Innovation Alley', the brainchild of keynote speaker and engineering visionary Richard E "Dick" Morley.

The alley will showcase seven technologists with the latest automation and control solutions.

Morley hand-picked the technologists based on the most ground-breaking thinking in the automation and control industries.

"We're trying to find new innovation that will make an impact on the industry in the years to come," said Morley, "These companies represent the future, and I'm excited to feature them at this event".

Innovation Alley will assemble a broad spectrum of companies, such as.

* Divelbiss Corporation - makers of PLC on a Chip, a single chip programmable logic controller.

* Evergreen Enhancement - offers a new approach to engineering support for embedded technology legacy products.

* National Centre for Manufacturing Sciences - the largest cross-industry collaborative manufacturing research consortium in the United States devoted exclusively to manufacturing technologies, processes, and practices.

* Phred LLC - an operating system that enables plug and play devices for the manufacturing process.

* Risk Services and Technology - creators of RiskTrak, a software tool that effectively tracks identified risks and risk mitigation actions.

* SoftSwitching Technologies - created the first Dynamic Sag Corrector to eliminate downtime caused by dirty power.

* Solstice Technologies - linking information technology and autonomous navigation.

ISA Automation West 2006 will be held at the Long Beach Conference Centre in Long Beach, California, on 2-3 May.

The technical conference will feature more than 20 tutorials, panels and papers.

Eight continuing education and training courses will offer rigorous professional education to enhance skills and performance.
