Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 22, 2007

ISA recently released a CD-ROM version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to Manufacturing Operations Management: ISA-95 Best Practices Book 1.0" by Editor and Contributing Author Charlie Gifford

To be competitive in today's environment, manufacturing operations activities must be highly interactive with supply chain and enterprise processes.

This handy electronic guide provides in-depth coverage on applying ISA-95, the Enterprise-Control Integration Standard, to help lower total cost of manufacturing operations management (MOM) systems and their enterprise and plant interfaces.

"This book provides the first public methodologies for successfully utilizing ISA-95 based manufacturing operations systems to transform production into an interactive part of the supply chain and enterprise" said Gifford.

The book features a series of "how-to" white papers described in the context of ISA-95 models, definitions, and data exchanges.

The book also explains the business cases for using evolving ISA-95 methods to effectively design, implement, change and optimise the MOM business processes and supporting MOM systems architectures within the distributed pull supply chains.

This electronic book is designed for automation professionals who want to dramatically lower total cost of ownership for manufacturing IT architectures and manufacturing and reduce supply chain operational costs.

The CD-ROM format lets the reader use bookmarked links to easily browse the various chapters, figures, and appendices.
