OPC servers for the pharmaceutical
industry

When considering a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the pharmaceutical industry, developing the OPC server to connect to the various machines in a line can be a costly and time consuming exercise Isatec has used its considerable experience in other industries to produce OPC servers specifically to allow end users to connect to a range of machines and instruments which are seen as industry standard components of a pharmaceutical packaging line

Working together with a major Spanish pharmaceutical company, Isatec produced servers for a case packer and an overwrapper made by Marchesini, the leading Italian manufacturer of packaging machinery.

A Garvens S series checkweigher was integrated into the line and a server was also successfully developed for this machine.

The OPC server was designed to work with the latest Gareco protocol as well as older versions.

Isatec can design an OPC server, based on the machine protocol and an initial specification.

During the implementation and testing phases of the project the customer can request changes or modifications to tailor the software to enable reliable, accurate communication.

Our considerable experience in this field also allows us to provide support to the customer in integrating the data into an MES system.

The Isatec OPC servers are a fast, simple and cost effective way of enabling a more efficient utilisation of an end user software development resources. Request a free brochure from Isatec ...
