Amerada Hess awards USD700,000 software
contract

SimSci-Esscor, an operating unit of Invensys, has announced it has signed a contract with Amerada Hess, the largest, independent US-based petroleum company The contract, valued at USD700,000, calls for SimSci-Esscor to supply process simulation software and related services to the Amerada Hess engineering facility in Woodbridge, NJ, and its refineries in Port Reading, NJ and St Croix, in the US Virgin Islands

Amerada Hess is involved in the exploration, development, production and refining of petroleum and natural gas in the US, United Kingdom, North Sea, Southeast Asia, and North and West Africa.
Its revenues exceeded USD13 billion last year as sales of its refined products approached 400,000 barrels per day.
Under the terms of the agreement, SimSci-Esscor will supply its Pro/II, Pipephase and ARPM software solutions and support services.

In addition, the solutions will enable engineers to anticipate maintenance requirements, identify faults in instrumentation, take advantage of soft sensor capabilities and resolve problems quickly and cost effectively.
