Commenting on the good news, Infotechnics Business Development Director Jon Howard said "We are delighted E.ON have selected Opralog for their operational reporting and shift logs.
E.ON are looking to improve the consistency and quality of information from sites and Opralog will enable them to use shift log information as a reliable and visible management information source in order to make quicker and better decisions.
Opralog will perform event logging, record plant status and support shift handover and daily cross-site communications.
This information will be used to analyse trends, track events and manage assets.
The UK electricity generation market is highly competitive and an extremely demanding market to participate in.
The visibility of operational information is essential if E.ON are to compete effectively in this environment".
Eon Project Manager, Jean Ord, added "The primary purpose of logging events is to record significant items that need to be communicated across shift teams and other functions of the business to improve awareness of plant issues.
Opralog is extremely flexible and easy to use and much of the event capture can be automated therefore helping the power stations to meet the statutory requirement to maintain a record of events occurring on site.
Opralog will enable standard sets of data to be collected automatically for defined events by linking into the PI systems.
This will reduce control room workload whilst improving the quality of information captured".
