The variable speed drive Nirvana compressor is now available in the low to medium 5.5 to 30kW range, and is fully upgradeable

Being able to follow the evolution of the user's compressed air needs, it is the only upgradeable compressor on the market with this range of power output A new version of the electronic controller guarantees the lowest operation costs

It adapts the power output to the demand in real time and can reduce energy consumption by 35%.

Available with a TAS version (Total Air System - which includes all components in a single system), the Nirvana 5.5 - 30 kW will first be shown at the Hanover Fair, 16 to 20 April, Hall 27, Stand B47.

Nirvana 5.5-30kW has the advantage of being suited to the needs of compressed air evolution: factory extension, increase of activity, new machines.

There is no need to change the whole compressor or for any mechanical upgrades.

Users can utilise an 'Intellikey' electronic device to change the power and/or pressure (5.5-11Kw) or just the power (15-30Kw).

The Intellikey will change the parameters of the IntelliDrive (variable speed drive function) to adjust the speed of the motor and the output diaphragm of the airend so as to obtain the requested new power and/or pressure.

Within the 12 product models, several upgrades are possible: 5.5 kW can be upgraded to 7.5 kW or 11 kW and vice-versa, 15 kW can be upgraded to 18.5 kW, whilst 22 kW can be upgraded to 30 kW.

The Total Air System (TAS) option provides the customer with one compact integrated solution for all the required components of a complete compressed air system: refrigerated air dryer, cycling dryer, dryer bypass, integrated coalescing and particulate filters, electronic drain valve, receiver tank mounted.

The cycling air dryer automatically starts and stops based on the compressor, therefore eliminating wasted energy.

This solution is compact: all these components can be inserted into the same standard unit, with no increase in footprint.

It is the only solution of this kind on the market for the 5.5 to 30 kW range.

The Nirvana range was the world's first true Variable Speed Drive compressor.

As with all the Nirvana compressors, the 5.5-30kW is equipped with a highly improved new version of variable speed drive function, called Intellidrive.

This device permanently adapts the air flow to the compressed air needs of the application.

The variable speed drive maintains a closely controlled system pressure; automatically adjusting its output to achieve the highest efficiency for the requested operation.

It gives the optimal operating pressure between 4.5 and 14 bar(g) (depending on the kW size of the machine).

As a consequence, Nirvana 5.5-30 kW can save up to 35% of energy costs compared to compressors without variable speed drive and thus lower operational costs.

Intellidrive control ensures the lowest power consumption at start-up, full-load and part-load conditions.

In a conventional air compressor, starting up the motor creates an enormous energy draw, as much as 800% of the full-load normal running current.

The gentle start cycle controlled by Intellidrive, in the Nirvana 5.5-30kW, allows smooth stop and restart cycles without any risk of over heating and eliminates thrust loading.

They can be restarted as frequently as needed.

At full load, Nirvana avoids wasted energy caused by excessive pressure band or unloaded running.

When operating at part-load, IntelliDrive avoids load cycling and maintains a steady state of operation.

Furthermore, a Power Outage Restart Option (15-30Kw) allows function resumption at a restore point of the last optimal mode of operation, in the event of a restored external power failure.

The Nirvana 5.5-30 kW is easy to install and to maintain.

All the operating parameters of the Nirvana compressor can quickly and easily be adjusted on the control system.

The Intellidrive display offers a single point control and access to overall diagnostics information: total hour runs schedule, power rating and in the 15-30Kw units pressure output plots during the day.

The display will also show a fault indicator, parts indication function with flashing LED and continuous warning if service is overdue.

During installation the best maintenance programme is installed and can easily be upgraded afterwards.

The variable speed technology optimises operating life and reduces wear and tear.

The modular design also offers an easy access to each serviceable component.

Finally, the Nirvana 5.5-30kW has a world class sound level as low as 65 dB.

In the 15-30kW version, it also allows remote control and monitoring.
