The new multi-lingual Jaltek Systems website is designed to present both user-friendly up-to-the-minute information and provide practical tools that have ongoing value for clients.

It has high-end functionality combined with simple navigation, making it fast to view and use.

Secure areas for clients have also been incorporated, giving them more interactive services.

Overall, the site has been given a totally fresh look and feel to represent the Jaltek Systems approach to business, which Jaltek sums up as 'refreshingly different'.

Sales Director, Steve Pittom, acknowledges that the time was right for an overhaul of the Jaltek website, and to offer visitors multi-lingual options, which now include French, German, Italian and Spanish.

"What people expect from a website has moved on radically in recent years.

For a business like ours it's about far more than just setting out your stall and telling people where to find you.

Now visitors log on and expect to be able to use your site, not just read it." In developing the new website, Jaltek had to focus on its dual purpose, both as a hub for existing clients and a showcase for prospective ones.

Central to Steve's vision was the ability to give Jaltek Systems existing clients the practical benefit of a private area within the website.

"The biggest revolution has been providing each of our clients secure access to their account details in a password protected area.

This is particularly important for our ever-growing number of international clients, who are spread across several different time zones.

Our new site gives them instant access to vital information, in their own language, such as statistical results on product yields and stock levels, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." Prior to this technological advance, clients had to rely on phone, email or fax to request information and then wait for the answers.

The delay was particularly noticeable for US clients, as the wait was sometimes exacerbated by the six-hour time difference.

Now, retrieving all manner of vital information is fast and convenient for Jaltek Systems clients, saving them time and effort.

A feature that all website users will benefit from is the carefully designed navigation.

Moving around the website has been kept deliberately simple, with most options always on screen and all screens only ever a couple of clicks away.

During the development, Jaltek also paid close attention to extra features that would benefit the website visitors.

"To make this website as useful as possible, we've also looked outwards at other things our site users may need.

For instance, in our Contact section rather than just a map, there are click-throughs to Ryan Air and EasyJet timetables as well as train times, so you don't have to hit a separate site to get this information.

We've also tried to avoid common website bugbears like waiting for an eternity while images are loading.

For this reason, we've kept the look of the site quite minimal and made navigation simple." For Steve Pittom the look, feel and tone of the website are as important as the new functionality, particularly for prospective clients.

He sees it as an opportunity to communicate the Jaltek personality - something that they feel sets them apart from other CEMs.

"The new website is a great reflection of what Jaltek is about.

If you log on and like what you see, we're the right company for you and you'll enjoy working with us." For anyone who is interested in Jaltek Systems, there are further opportunities to make contact or find out more about the company from within the site.

For example, they are able to request a code that then gives them access to more detailed company information, such as family trees and key personnel.

Steve Pittom says: "It's a great way for people to find out about us and to see what we have to offer without committing themselves to a phone call.

That way, when they do make contact, they know what we're about and we know they're really interested." Jaltek Systems is an EMS Provider with clients in the defence, aviation, medical, automotive and broadcast sectors, embedded computer systems and I/P development platforms.

Currently employing 60 people, Jaltek Systems occupy a 1600m2 facility on the Sundon Business Park in Luton, Bedfordshire.
