Remote wireless temperature recording
With today's wireless technology one no longer have to "get off the train" to download data recordings: mobile air conditioning unit performance is logged and transmitted by GSM enabled phone links
By combining the ACR SmartReader Plus data loggers with "GSM" technology, information can be accessed at any time wherever the loggers are.
For example in one recent application an ACR-SRP7 12-bit seven channel 0-10V input data logger was installed within the air conditioning unit on a number of trains.
The internal temperature channel measured and recorded the ambient temperature around the logger in the unit other channels were used to record the status of the doors "how long open how long closed".
Running times of the air-cooling unit were recorded using the temperature measurements the also monitored the on/off of the units.
Dual band modems and a US Robotics host modem were selected.
The trains can be accessed wherever they were parked at selected times during the night regardless of location.
The information gathered has started to inform the rail service provider exactly how efficiently the air conditioning is working and has enabled them to install better controls for passenger comfort.
No need to stop logging or locate the where the train is and clamber about whilst it is in service.
Combining the ever powerful add on features of TrendReader software such as: Real Time graphing, TalkBack software, which automatically downloads logged information and responds to SmartReader Plus Alarms.
All the answers are on hand.
