Wireless data logging made easy: the WiSensys wireless range is an easy to install, ready to use, data sensing system with data logging capability, with secure transmission of logged parameters

Look at wireless products "Reduces wiring costs-down to virtual zero"

"Installation costs are eliminated".

These comments were made recently by leading automation industry figureheads, as jdl adds the WiSensys wireless range to its portfolio of data loggers.

Some pertinent features are listed below.

It is an easy to install, ready to use, data sensing system with data logging capability and has accurate measuring, secure transmission of logged parameters.

The system comprises.

* Sensor units.

These sensor units can each store up to 10,000 measurements in non-volatile memory at user programmable intervals.

This storage is used if the PC connection to the base station is not available.

Trip values can be set in each sensor for monitoring alarm conditions.

Powered by batteries with an average lifetime of three years.

The maximum number of sensors per system is 100.

NO interconnecting wires.

Optional Repeater station, for those very difficult locations where free line of sight may be obstructed.

The maximum number of repeaters per system is 9.

NO interconnecting wires.

* Base station to sensors.

The base station receives sensed data from all sensors without any interconnecting wires and automatically transfers the stored values to a PC if connected, the base station stores up to 100,000 measurement values and is connected to the PC via an RS232 interface cable.

This storage can be used for logging values when a PC is not connected.

A switched relay can be made available, for example connecting an external alarm indication to the base station.

NO interconnecting wires between up to 100 remote sensors.

Where have all the wires gone? * Software.

On installation the WiSensys Network Control Programme supplied with the base station package is used to install the system.

Friendly names can then be assigned to each sensor.

Measurement and transmission intervals can be specified and trip values set.

These values can be changed at a later date.

* System coverage.

The distance between the base station and the sensors determines this; if the distance has to be larger than the specified range a repeater between sensor and base station can be used.

NO wires involved.
