To guarantee optimum part quality in the injection-moulding process, it is essential for the transition from the injection phase to the holding pressure phase, to take place at exactly the right time In conventional switching methods, the volumetric filling of the cavity is determined via a series of fillings without holding pressure

However, where a fixed transition switching value is set, it is impossible to react to fluctuations in the process and, in consequence, the parts vary in quality.

Problems arise including variations in dimensional stability and weight, as well as variable shrinkage, warpage and flash.

To overcome these disadvantages, Kistler has developed products especially for the injection moulding industry, which determine the optimum transition point on the basis of changes in the mould cavity pressure.

The result is that mouldings are of the highest quality with precise dimensions and constant weight, irrespective of fluctuations in viscosity.

This process technology actively optimises the injection moulding process and also brings about a considerable increase in productivity.

John Morris Scientific is pleased to present the Kistler 5049/5155 charge amplifier, which the manufacturer can fit very easily to the injection moulding machines.

The automatic detection of volumetric filling switches the machine from injection, to holding pressure.

This smart amplifier offers the user a variety of benefits: there is no need for manual optimisation of the switching point; viscosity fluctuations are compensated; the quality of parts remains constant; and the system is machine-independent.

Also, premature switching is eliminated.
