Designed with the particular demands of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in mind, the new Saflex H pump seal launched by John Crane incorporates a number of unique features.

Derived from the extensive John Crane industrial experience, these features allow Saflex H to satisfy the stringent standards of sterility and hygienic operation which these applications demand The high level of operational reliability provided by Saflex H is designed to promote continuous production runs and keep expensive downtime to an absolute minimum

The ability to sterilise-in-place is ideal for hygiene-critical applications, while the facility to clean-in-place greatly speeds changes between production runs.

The standard Saflex H design can also easily be adapted to satisfy the many specific operational requirements of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The unique ultra-clean seal profile compliments the cartridge design which eliminates contamination traps in a way quite unlike any other pump seal.

The roll-formed bellows core has a twin-ply design, which further enhances cleanliness and ensures maximum compatibility with different applications.

These bellows enclose the main shrunk-fit seal face and this eliminates the need for the traditional O-rings or other additional components that often become contaminant traps.

Satisfying FDA standards, all the component materials are recognised for use worldwide and this versatility is further enhanced by the availability of Saflex H in sizes compatible with most key industry rotating equipment.

This flexible new seal can also handle pressures from vacuum up to 16 bar, and is easily able to cope with harsh operating conditions where necessary.

Designed to operate with equal efficiency and reliability in both abrasive and viscous environments, the high-quality seal faces are available in carbon, silicon carbide and silicon carbide/graphite composite materials.
