Total Processing and Packaging 2004 Visit John Crane on Stand No 1H60.

John Crane's ability to support its extensive product range with an unparalleled service capability will be the theme of Stand No: 1H60 at this year's Total Processing and Packaging exhibition.

With the focus firmly on reducing the total cost of ownership for customers, John Crane adopts a partnership approach to providing service on a genuinely global scale.

And with a product range which extends far beyond mechanical seals, the company can provide cost-effective solutions to different processing requirements across the processing and packaging sectors.

Modelling technology.

The presence on Stand No: 1H60 of the innovative Rainmaker software modelling system will emphasise the variety of processing solutions available from John Crane.

This highly effective plant management tool has many applications in maintenance, risk analysis, refurbishment, safety and training, and is suited to all types of process industry.

It makes 3-D computer modelling far more accessible than previously, and also dramatically reduces the costs and lead times involved.

Rainmaker provides detailed 3D mapping of sites, plant and equipment, using laser scanning and digital photogrammetry techniques to model plant 'as is'.

This creates highly accurate 3-D models at a significantly lower cost, and far earlier in a project schedule than other methods, and can form the basis of a valuable databank which makes all types of existing plant information available to the user.

Centralised lubrication.

Another key John Crane product on display will be the revolutionary Safematic MultiLube centralised lubrication s system, suitable for individual machines and equipment.

Adaptable to virtually any process requirement, MultiLube modular design makes it simple to install and operate.

It provides a flexible, efficient solution which r educes energy and lubricant consumption, improves lubrication quality, extends intervals between downtime and generates significant cost savings.

The MultiLube control unit, pump, reservoir, directional valve and pressure monitoring are integrated into one unit, while grease and oil dosers for single and dual line systems can be incorporated along with other auxiliary equipment.

Hygiene-critical sealing.

John Crane's sealing solutions for applications where high standards of sterility and hygienic operation apply will also be well represented, and will include examples of the company's 5280 vessel and agitator seals.

Available in dry-running, gas lubricated and wet lubricated versions, they offer a variety of effective and reliable sealing solutions which are configurable to satisfy specialized applications.

Also displayed will be the CK series which includes seals suitable for ceramic and DIN steel vessels, mixers and agitators.

With wet lubricated, gas lubricated, contacting and non-contacting options available, a flexible, modular design allows the CK products to satisfy many different applications.

Cost-effective couplings.

John Crane's reliable and highly cost-effective L Series membrane couplings will also be present.

Designed for demanding industrial applications the L Series couplings offer many advantages including easy installation, protective overload collars and a virtually infinite operating life.

With no relative moving parts they require no maintenance, and the ability to operate in either direction makes these ATEX-compliant couplings particularly versatile, as does a choice of hub configurations, plus coated carbon steel hardware which provides outstanding corrosion protection.

Versatile solutions.

John Crane will also demonstrate its recently extended 4600 family of single and dual cartridge seals that feature an easily-installed compact design and offer a versatile solution for industrial applications.

Able to satisfy key industry standards, the new 4620P dual seal can be used in rotating shaft equipment including A NSI/DIN pumps, close-coupled pumps, vertical water pumps and similar equipment.

The dual cartridge model also features a standard pumping ring which minimises spares inventory requirements.

Other sealing products on display will include the enhanced Type 2800 Extended Range of non-contacting pump gas seals.

Design changes have further improved performance and reliability and helped meet increasing demands for minimal barrier gas consumption.

These seals are ideally suited to chemical and petrochemical applications, and offer extended life and reduced power consumption for zero emission applications.

These will be complemented by John Crane's 5600 universal cartridge seals, and the FFET single cartridge models.

T he 5600 product modular design makes individual components interchangeable and allows one seal family to be used throughout a plant, simplifying spares and maintenance considerations.
